The Culture Represetative of the Royal House of Buayan, Sultanate of Buayan Darussalam felt deeply honored to be invited recently, as the royal guests to lead the group of Philippines Royal Houses, to the 1st South East Asia Culture Royal Heritage Festival & Expo on November 25th to 1st December 2008 at the Art Center Denpasar Bali – Indonesia organized by the Department of Internal Affairs of The Republic of Indonesia & Department of Culture And Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia with the collaboration of the Forum Silaturahmi Keraton se Nusantara – FSKN (Association of the Royal Palace in Indonesia) & Lembaga Pengamatan Penelitian Kraton-Kraton se Nusantara (LP2K).

The members of the Philippines Royal Houses who were invited to attend the historical event were from the ROYAL HOUSES OF BUAYAN, KABUNTALAN, MAGUINDANAO and 4 members from ROYAL HOUSE OF LANAO.

On the 29th November, 2008/Saturday, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono of Indonesia had also take the apportunity to meet with the Indonesia traditional kings and sultans from Riau, Riau Islands, South Sumatra, West Sumatra, Lampung, Madura, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Maluku and West Papua & foreign dignitaries from the Philippines Royal Houses etc.

Just liked Indonesia, Bangsa Moro has a variety of royal cultures and arts etc. Under the present Philippine Constitution, the beliefs, customs and traditions of the indigenous peoples, which include the Bangsa Moro, have been fully recognized, respected and guaranteed by the Government of the Philippines, Article II, Section 22, among others. I believed that the Moro sultans can play a role in preserving and developing the national heritages of Philippines in general. We also as members from the different Royal Houses can play a role in the national developments in all aspect and be the agent to develop tourism as the results of economic development which could be used to sustain

This is the 1st experience for the Philippines Royal Houses to be exposed to an international event of this kind. The international recognition and acceptance of the Philippines Royal Houses through this historical events would allow us to promote the Culture Royal Heritage of Bangsa Moro, which is very important for its continuity and support.

The Muslims in the south are also culturally linked to Muslim countries in Southeast Asia such as Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Philippines and South Thailand.

We take this opportunity to thank - YM Prince Kanjeng Haryo Gunarso G. Kusumodiningrat – Secretary General – FSKN/Chairman of LP2K for including the Philippines Royal Houses to participate in the festival events, as we were able to play a small role to help promote the 2 countries Royal Cultural & Heritage within the Nusantara region. We believe that we have much to learn and achieve our goal to promote the Culture Royal Heritage of Philippines to the Malay world and we appreciate with the collaboration of the FSKN and the Cultural Representative Office of the Royal House of Buayan, we will achieve the goal.

He was enthroned on 28 June 2008, in accordance to the ‘Royal Order of Succession’. Succeeding his brother Almarhum Sultan Akmad Utto Camsa ibni Almarhum Sultan Kudanding Camsa as the 17th in hierarchy of the Buayan Sultanate.

The rulers have been a part of the history of West Timor for hundreds of years. In this modern day and age, they form an integral part of history, culture and society while playing a crucial role within their geographical areas.Many of the families have continued their existence till modern times.

There are various families existing in West Timor who descend from past families and some of them maintain a continued lineage.Some have merged with other families and continued alongside them.Most of these families have a heritage of hundreds of years and have played significant roles in their own geographic domains.In this modern times, some may have gone into abeyance in some manner, while some play significant roles in their own.The royal dynasties of West Timor have strong cultural and social roles that can contribute to society at large.

Bhutan crowns young king to guide young democracy

With mediaeval tradition and Buddhist spirituality, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck a 28-year-old charismatic batchelor with an Oxford education assumed the Raven Crown of Bhutan, to guide the world's newest democracy as it emerges into the modern world.

As the chief abbot chanted sacred sutras to grant him wisdom, compassi- on and vision, the new King was given the red and black silk crown by his own 52-year-old father, who imposed democracy on Bhutan and then abdicated two years ago.

Dressed in a red and gold gho – the knee-length gown all Bhutanese men wear – he then sat cross-legged on the ornate Golden Throne, looking solemn but allowing himself one fleeting smile, as offerings were made to the new king and the gods.

This handsome young man, who also studied in the United States and India, embodies the changes sweeping the conservative Himalayan kingdom – a young country, a young democracy, with an eye on the outside world but one foot firmly planted in its past.

The crown, embroider- ed with images of white skulls and topped with a blue raven's head, represents Bhutan's supreme warrior deity and a monarchy that united this country 100 years ago and remains enormously popular.

Freed from the burden of government that his father bore, Wangchuck remains an important symbol of national unity and stability in a country of just 635,000 people undergoing a sometimes traumatic and divisive transition to the modern world.„His Majesty the King will always play a very important role as a moral force in our country,“ said Prime Minister Jigmi Thinley, elected in the country's first elections last March.„

The king will be the force that will ensure the long-term sustainability and resilience of democracy in our country.“

The day-long ceremony took place in the massive white-walled dzong, both fortress and monastery, in the capital Thimphu. Monks stood on the roofs blowing on their long horns, clashing cymbals and beating drums at significant moments.

Thousands of people lined up outside to pay tribute to their new king, and each was given the chance to give him a ceremonial white scarf in the afternoon. Two more days of national celebration will follow.

At dawn, three vividly painted tapestries were unveiled inside the dzong, each four-storeys high, depicting Buddha and the gurus who brought his religion to Bhutan.

As the morning sun rose higher in the clear blue sky, the king arrived, led by a procession of red-robed monks, courtesans carrying colourful banners, immaculately dressed officials and soldiers in round helmets carrying swords and black shields.

The watching crowd included close ally India's ceremonial President Pratibha Patil, its most powerful politician Sonia Gandhi, and her two children Priyanka and Rahul – the Gandhis have long been close family friends of the Bhutanese royals.

Barefoot dancers pranced and twirled in ancient costumes, banging small drums, performing „The Dance of the Heroes“ before the ceremony began in the Supreme Chamber of the Golden Throne.

Five decades ago, Bhutan was a feudal, mediaeval place with no roads, proper schools or hospitals and scarcely any contact with the outside world. Today education and healthcare are free and life expectancy has risen to 66 years from less than 40.

For most Bhutanese, credit goes to the outgoing monarch, the Fourth King, Jigme Singye Wangchuck, who saw that his tiny country, perched precariously between India and China, had to be stronger to survive in a dangerous neighbourhood.

He was also the architect of Bhutan's widely admired national philosophy, Gross National Happiness, the idea that spiritual and mental well-being matter as much as money, that material gain should not come at the expense of the environment or culture.

The charming new king, with swept-back black hair and sideburns, has already won the hearts and minds of his subjects. He mingles freely with crowds and is enormously popular with the younger generation.

With drugs use, unemployment and crime all rising, and a more rebellious younger generation emerging, Bhutan's modernisation is not without its growing pains.

But the celebrations will help the country come together as a nation after a sometimes divisive general election, analysts say.

Envy can in fact damage one's sanity. The basis of the remedy for envy is TAQWA of ALLAH.The causes of envy are arrogance, low self esteem, love of leadership and covetousness. It is important to be aware of the feelings that reside in one's heart. This self awareness is essential for the purpose of purification.Another cause of envy is vying for another's love or affection, which can become vicious; and its effect can linger in a person for a very long time, which is often the case when siblings compete for parental love.[Purification of the Heart].

First of all many thanks for Your 2 emails that I received and I read it with many sad and bad feelings what is really happened in Mindanao.I also listened at BBC,VOA,Radio Nederland and ABC. So immediatelly my wive and I,we think so much to You, Your People and Families We only can pray to our Lord,hoping the situation will change.

We can have PEACE ONLY BY LOVE,UNDERSTANDING,TOLERANCE AND SELF-INTERSPECTION.I know now in Your Region it is happened,violence,burning and murder and I hope also the United Nations and The Asean Countries will be the referee in this bad case. It is a long story the same as in Aceh,Basken in Spain,North-South Korea, Cyprus etc and WITH OUR GOOD WILL THERE WILL BE A SOLUTION.

I think our President Susilo Bambang Yudoyono will do his best to solve it. Many commentars at our TVstations and Radiostations and also in our newspapers. With such a huge attention and participation the Asean Countries can make Peace in Mindanao.

A week before the death of the Late HRH Sultan Akmad Utto Camsa, a parcel contained 'Badek Bugis' was sent to the office of the Fathul Sultan Akmad Utto Camsa Foundation Inc. in Kuala Lumpur from Indonesia. It was a gift from a 'Ustaz' from Demak, Indonesia for the late Sultan. A gift that was never expected by the late Sultan, which he had agreed to use it on the 3rd year anniversary of the royal cabinet of Royal House of Buayan.

With the permission of Bai Catherine (Khadijah) K. Camsa, the wife of the late Sultan, the Cultural Office of the Royal House of Buayan, Kuala Lumpur has decided to post few photos of the Royal Kris for the knowledge of the buayanon.

The Royal House of Andavit through Haji Datu Salic Tumagantang Datusapadas Zainal, enthroned Matua Rajah sa Andavit and Member of the Royal Cabinet of Buayan Sultanate presented “Letter of Intent” dated June 7, 2007 as OBSERVER in the GRP-MILF Peace Talk to the Regular Meeting of the Royal Cabinet of Rajah Buayan, Darussalam. Upon deliberating and critiquing on its content to the Royal House Plenary, the late Prime Sultan of Rajah Buayan, HRH Sultan Akmad bin Sultan Kudanding Camsa ibni Utto Anwaruddin indorsed it to the Committee Chairman of the MILF Peace Panel for APPROVAL.
July 28, 2008 at about 7:30 pm, member of the MILF Technical Committee on Peace Process informed the undersigned that the Letter of Intent was accredited as an OBSERVER to witness the MILF-GRP Ceremonial signing of Memorandum of Agreement on Ancestral Domain aspect of the MILF-GRP Tripoli Agreement on Peace of 2001 on August 5, 2008 at Mariot Hotel, Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
July 29, 2008, Prof. Datu Candidato L. Kalipa, Datu-a-Lukes sa Buayan and Haji Datu Abdila Malaguial, Datu-a-Masla sa Buayan went to Dalican, DOS, Shariff Kabunsuan to discuss and confer the matter relative to the accreditation of Buayan to MILF-GRP Peace Negotiations to HRH Sultan Judge Datukaka P. Camsa, Amerol Ombra and Secretary General of this sultanate. The discussion was participated through cell phone by Haji Datu Racman Utto Ali, Marajalayla of Buayan. The lengthy discussion was agreed and chosen unanimously Haji Datu Salic T. D. Zainal (Matua Rajah) to represent the Sultanate of Rajah Buayan to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.
July 30, 2008, HRH Sultan Judge Datukaka P. Camsa, Prof. Datu Candidato L. Kalipa, and Haji Datu Abdila Malaguial went to Isulan, Sultan Kudarat. They requested and recommended to the Prime Sultan HRH Sultan Mohammad Amir Kusain bin Sultan Kudanding Camsa ibni Utto Anwaruddin that Haji Datu Salic T.D. Zainal, Matua Rajah sa Andavit and Member of the Royal Cabinet of Buayan will be the representative to Malaysia. Alhamdulillah, the request was approved by the Prime Sultan and consequently, issued Appointment/Authorization as well as the Letter of Acknowledgement and Appreciation forwarded to the Honorable MILF Peace Panel Chairman.
August 2, 2008, the undersigned left Awang Airport, DOS, Shariff Kabunsuan to Manila with the MILF Chairman and Members of the Peace Panel. Haji Datu Racman Utto Ali guided and accommodated him in Manila.
August 3, 2008, 11:00 pm, the undersigned and some of the MILF Peace Panels had departed Manila International Airport and arrived to Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 3:00 am on August 4, 2008. The Members of the Delegation had been welcomed by the Malaysian Authorities and escorted them till Marriot Hotel, Putrajaya-WP, Malaysia.
The following day, the undersigned and Putri Aizian U. Camsa, Bai-a-Labi sa Buayan na Malaysia with bro. Asst. Sec. Matanog “Diego” M. Mapandi of the Dept. of Energy and Dir. Musa M. Saguila, Civil Society Organization of Lanao del Norte had met in a Coffee Shop and greeted one another. She invited them to go around the city and also visited H.E. DATUK MOHAMAD FATHI HAJI AHMAD, Honorary Consul of the Embassy of the Republic of Mozambique in Kuala Lumpur. After the meeting, they proceeded to Putri’s residence in Subang Jaya to meet the two scholars of Rajah Buayan Sultanate. The grantees are taking the course of Diploma In Travel, Tourism & Hospitality Management at the Optima College, Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia under the Scholarship of the Royal Patronage of Sultanate of Buayan.
The Team had returned to the Hotel and informed them the sad news that Temporary Restraining Order was issued by the Philippine Supreme Court for the “Signing” of the GRP-MILF MOA.
On August 5, 2008 while on breakfast, different commentaries and critical statements on the issued TRO were being heard from among the delegates. After breakfast, Press Conference was scheduled. According to a certain observer from the Philippine Council for Islamic and Democracy that “the Supreme Court issuance of TRO was the most unfortunate move of the government that may derail moves for peace. It wasted times and fund of the GRP-Malaysia and tarnished the credibility of the GRP as one that cannot do what it has committed to do.”
August 6, 2008, the undersigned arrived at Manila Airport and Marajalayla welcomed and brought him to Hotel to stay and feel relax. The undersigned extended his warmest SUKOR to brother Marajalayla and Deputy Prime Sultan of the East Haji Datu Racman Utto Ali and most specially, to sister Bai-a-Labi Aizian U. Camsa for her hospitality during his stay at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

NEWLY ENTHRONED THE 17TH SULTAN OF BUAYAN

HRH Sultan Mohamad Amil Kusain U. Camsa ibni Almarhum Sultan Kudanding Camsa was choosen and appointed as the successor of his brother Almarhum Sultan Akmad Utto Camsa by his brothers and sisters with the blessing of the Honorable Governor Datu Andal Ampatuan and his eldest sister - the Bai-a-Labi of Buayan on 19 March, 2008. He was formally enthroned on the 28 June 2008, succeeding his brother Almarhum Sultan Akmad Utto Camsa ibni Almarhum Sultan Kudanding Camsa as the 17th in hierarchy of the Buayan Sultanate.

HRH was born on December 1, 1955 at Kolambog, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat and married to Bai Babatel Lumenda Camsa and to Bai Luzviminda Esquejo Camsa, after the untimely death of Shariff a Bai Talipasan Camsa-daughter of Datu Sanggutin Talipasan (Grandson of Shariff Impao) and blessed with five (5) children, namely:

(1) Bai Rowena Talipasan Camsa
(2) Datu Dondon Lumenda Camsa
(3) Datu Amil Kusain Esquejo Camsa
(4) Bai Aubrey Mae Esquejo Camsa
(5) Ali Fahiza Esquejo Camsa

Prior to his enthronement, HRH is known to MNLF as KUMANDER COBRA leads the Bangsa Moro Armed Troops of his Father Almarhum Sultan Kudanding Camsa ibni Almarhum Sultan Camsa, during the heights of moro struggle to self determination, when then Strongman, President Ferdinand E. Marcos declared Martial Law in 1971 and returned to the folds of the Law in 1974. He also served as the President of Isulan Muslim Association(1989-2000).

HRH SULTAN AKMAD U. CAMSA also known as Sultan Akmad bin Sultan Kudanding Camsa ibni Sultan “Utto” Anwaruddin. Being the successor of his father (HRH Sultan Kudanding Camsa) he was enthroned as Sultan of Buayan on October 1, 1990 and recognized as Prime Sultan of the Sultanate of Buayan since February 26, 2006 up to the time of his death on August 30, 2007 . A year after his Enthronement, he was appointed by His Excellency Fidel V. Ramos, President of the Philippines as a member of the Council of Elders and Advisers, representing Buayan Sultanate. From the time of his proclamation up to his death, he have performed his functions as the Sultan of Buayan. In fact, on February 26, 2006, he had enthroned his Royal Cabinet to empower and effect his authority as Prime Sultan of the Sultanate of Buayan. This enthronement was personally witnesses by the two (2) Sultan’s (themselves and some Royal Cabinets), of the two Royal Houses of Sultanate in Mindanao: the Sultanate of Maguindanao and the Sultanate of Kabuntalan, and to proved their presence and recognition to the affairs, both Sultan’s had affixed their signatures on every certificate issued to the enthroned Royalties. And later enthroned a numbers of sub-Sultan’s and Datus in different places covered by the Sultanate of Buayan.

In least than six (6) months of full service to the constituents of Buayan Sultanate, and because of the service-experience of the Royal House in its widest area of responsibilities coupled with the rapid increase of its population that make Them un-easy to effect the full service needed by Their people, the Prime Sultan thru its Royal Cabinet had created four (4) Deputy Prime Sultan’s to task the functions given by the Prime Sultan in the four corners of Buayan. This deputies were chosen from the Cabinet Members who has the accessibility and means to perform such functions, in addition to their present position in the sultanate. Among them were the followings, to wit:

HRH Sultan Akmad is continuously guiding the descendants of the royal families in different places within Buayan Sultanate in order to organized themselves according to their Royalties or Title/Position within their clan, subject to the rules and regulations of Buayan Sultanate. One of the objective of the Prime Sultan is to achieve a close ties among themselves resulting to a better Peace and Order within the community and the country as a whole.

On the few developments made by late Sultan Akmad after the enthronement of his complete cabinet set-up were the: 1. By-Laws of the Sultanate of Buayan, in Maguindanawn version; 2. The very first book made by the Sultanate of Buayan, in English version entitled: “Chronology of Succession of the Sultanate of Buayan”, to include the different enthroned Royal families; 3. The creation of different committees with their functions; 4. The translation of Presidential Decree 1083 (Shari’ah Law) in Maguindanawn version; and 5. The reconciliation of minor family feuds. For the Buayan constituents, translation into a Maguindanawn version is very important especially to the leaders who have less education, for them to understand well the meaning of this law. The on-going projects at the time of his demise were: a.) The translation of Anti-Terrorist Law, also in Maguindanawn version; b.) The consolidation of Local Genealogy (Tarsila); c.) The creation of Madrasah (Arabic School) and English School for the families of Rajah Buayan (both young and adult); and many others. He also encouraged major involvement in the on-going peace talk between the Government of Republic of the Philippines (GRP) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), those representatives of Buayan Sultanate, headed by the Marajalayla sa Buayan/Deputy Prime Sultan of the East, had formally delivered the communication to the Head of the MILF Peace Panel and openly discuss our objectives. A written communication was also send to the GRP Peace Panel with the same contents. Unfortunately, however, until his death, said initiatives did not been materialize.

Before his death, He stated that there is a need to instill greater consciousness and understanding among us, on the comprehensive path to peace, to strengthen and sustain participation in the promotion of the culture of peace, with respect to the fundamental rights of freedom, tolerance, understanding and solidarity.

Yes, it is true that Late Sultan Akmad was the Cotabato City Postmaster. His beloved wife Bai Catherine K. Camsa survived despite being hit by bullets from the ambushers. They had 5 children - 2 boys and 3 girls. This coming 30.08.2008 will be the 1st year death anniversary of my beloved brother - Almarhum Sultan Akmad U. Camsa and I hope the buayanons will always remember, that after years of hard struggle and brilliant achievement Almarhum had left his true legacy of wisdom and he deserved to be called as the "HERO OF BUAYAN" whose name we would all honor, and whose ideals we can emulate. I would personally take this opportunity to extent my sincere thanks to all his loyal cabinet members for all the support and guidance that you people had shown during his reign.
